I was contacted a few days ago from a woman who purchased an English Bulldog from Petland in Olathe, KS a few months ago. The dog currently at 6 months old has been diagnosed by two different vets with having a corkscrew tail. So what is currently happening is that the dogs tail is growing back into her body. It is also infected and the owner of the dog is desperately trying to correct the situation with a specialist. Betty Boo will need to have surgery to remove the tail as well as some of her bottom. If the surgery is not done soon, Betty Boo’s infection will worsen and the tail could do serious damage by growing into the intestines or disrupting the spinal column. On the low side this surgery will cost $1,200.

She has made several attempts to contact the owner of Petland – James Edwards as well as Petland’s corporate office and Hunte Corporation and is not receiving any cooperation. Petland has kicked her out of the store threatening to have her arrested for trespassing. So she has been trying to work with the kennel manager- Amanda over the phone. She finally got a hold of Amanda the other day, Petland will NOT provide any financing for this dog to have surgery. Furthermore, Amanda told the dog’s owner that if she called the store again she will be arrested for phone harassment. Janie is beside herself. She is currently trying to get help to expose Petland for their negligence and get Betty Boo the surgery she needs.
